Introduction

The Interactive catalogue is a visual showcase of Jaroszynska’s oeuvre, and forms the second part of my overall thesis. I consider this catalogue as the first step towards the preparation of a more comprehensive catalogue raisonné. Given the limited documentation available and the challenge of conducting primary research across two continents, it was not feasible to document Jaroszynska’s entire body of work within the timeframe of my Master’s research.

This website is divided into four main sections: the Artist CV, the Interactive Catalogue, the Catalogue Index and the Catalogue References.

The Interactive Catalogue:

The Interactive Catalogue organises Jaroszynska’s body of work into easily navigable sections based on style and imagery, since many of her pieces remain undated. The categories include: Elongated Features, Round-Faced Figures, Abstract Landscapes, Rialto Series, Helsinki Series, Portrait figures, Chaotic Compositions, Checkerboard Motif, Animal Imagery and Exploratory Works.

Furthermore, each piece is tagged by its medium, allowing users to filter works such as oil paintings, prints, drawings, and mixed media pieces. This format is ideal for casual browsing, offering a broad overview of Jaroszynska’s styles and recurring motifs. Each artwork is represented by a thumbnail image, along with its title, category, and relevant tags.

The first page of the Interactive Catalogue provides an unsorted overview of all documented works to date. To explore specific styles or imagery, simply select one of the categories. For a more detailed search, you can use the search bar feature to locate specific works by entering the title and/or catalogue number (KJ000). This will help you quickly find the particular artwork you are looking for.

The Catalogue Index:

The Catalogue Index presents a comprehensive list of all the documented works featured in the Interactive Catalogue. This section is ideal for those seeking a more detailed and structured view of Jaroszynska’s oeuvre. Each entry is listed with its catalogue number (KJ000), title, date, size, medium, and location (where available).
